We also feed, neuter and care for many of the feral cats in the area. This involves daily trips by a volunteer to the feral sites with food, as well as trapping and neutering to help prevent feral numbers from growing and tending to any sick feral cats.

If feral kittens are caught early enough some can be tamed and homed as loving pets.

Where necessary we neuter, vaccinate, microchip, worm, de-flea and vet check every cat before re-homing. We also carry out a home visit with each potential new owner to ensure that the environment suits the needs of the cat.

We take in cats of all ages and it is our policy not to put any cat to sleep unless it has been advised for humane reasons by a Veterinary surgeon.

We do not have a rescue centre in Cheltenham, our welfare facilities consist of volunteers in and around the Cheltenham area caring for cats either in Pen Units in their garden or in their own homes.

Pete and Beryl
Cheltenham Cats Protection relies on donations and fund raising to cover the many costs involved in rescuing, caring for and re-homing cats in the area. We have an excellent team of volunteer fund raisers who work hard to organise and run events throughout the year. From table top sales at local events to the Grand Christmas Bazaar! We also have a 128 strong (and rising) local membership who support the branch.

There is a huge amount of work involved in running the Cheltenham Branch. As with all other Cats Protection Branches we are manned solely by volunteers, most of which have full time jobs and family commitments as well.
